Self Rescue III: Multipitch Rescue

$195 | Great Falls, VA | Basic top and bottom-managed self-rescue skills (rope ascension, weighted belay takeovers, and climber pickoffs) required

Be prepared for anything. Our most advanced self and partner rescue class teaches critical skills for partner rescue in trad and sport multi-pitch climbing—held in a small group format with extensive hands-on practice, this immersive deep dive into climbing systems, gear, and problem-solving is a unique chance to learn challenging, advanced techniques close to home from professional, AMGA-certified instructors.

While Self-Rescue I and II focus on core top-and bottom-managed skills in single pitch settings, Self Rescue III focuses on the more complex systems and higher stakes of rescue in a multi-pitch setting. From risk management, to safely managing weighted transitions with friction hitches, to counterbalance and tandem rappels, to securely transitioning at mid-climb anchors, this intensive is ideal for advanced climbers looking to increase their toolkit of techniques for getting home safe.
